The investigations that are the most challenging in the administrative area today are those involving sexual misconduct, hostile work environment claims, and use of force, including Officer-Involved Shootings (OIS) or in-custody deaths. This four-week training program will review recommendations for conducting an effective investigation, including proper legal and operational standards. The goal is to establish an operationally sound manner to consistently investigate serious allegations of misconduct to ensure the support of an effective discipline system. This will include legal analysis, collection and presentation of evidence, use of technology, video analysis, and testimony preparation.

- Harassment Prevention, Diversity, and Misconduct Training

- Dealing with Haters and Trolls on Social Media

- Hidden Evidence in Video During Use of Force Investigations
- Investigating “Human Error”
- Conducting Effective Review Boards
Instructor: Attorney Eric P. Daigle
Attorney Daigle focuses on evaluating and providing policy and training in areas of increased liability for departments across the country. His keynote addresses understanding current trends in legal and operational standards, as well as community concerns. More importantly, he discusses the intersection of these topics, offering departments evaluations and recommendations for moving forward.
